Overview
Brammah Valley lies in the Kishtwar district of Jammu & Kashmir — a remote region that shares the geological drama of the Greater Himalayan range but sees a fraction of the trekking traffic of the Kashmir Valley. The dominant feature is Brammah I (6,416m) — a challenging technical peak whose base camp the trek approaches over several days of dramatic alpine terrain.
This is not a trek for those seeking comfort. It is a trek for those who want to feel genuinely small in the Himalayas. The reward is an experience of mountain wilderness that very few people in the world have ever had.
Trek Highlights
- Brammah Peak views — approaching the base of the 6,416m peak over multiple days of increasingly dramatic terrain
- Marwah Valley meadows — the approach through Marwah valley features some of the most beautiful high meadows in Kishtwar
- Glacier proximity — close approaches to active glacial zones above 4,000m
- Complete wilderness — no other trekking groups, no trail infrastructure, total self-sufficiency
- Kishtwar culture — encounter traditional Gaddi and Gujjar communities who have herded livestock on these routes for centuries
- Zero light pollution — the most spectacular night skies of any trek we operate

Prerequisites & Safety
Before booking Brammah Valley, you should have completed at least one of: Kashmir Great Lakes Trek, Warwan Valley Trek, or equivalent 6+ day high-altitude trek above 4,000m. Read our altitude sickness guide thoroughly.

FAQ
Is the Brammah Valley trek for Indian nationals only?
No — foreign nationals can trek in Kishtwar, but require additional documentation including a Protected Area Permit application (4–6 weeks advance notice). See our permits guide. We handle all documentation for both Indian and international trekkers.
How does Brammah compare to Warwan Valley?
Both are Difficult-rated multi-day wilderness treks. Warwan Valley (9 days) is in the Kashmir Valley region and is logistically simpler. Brammah is in the less-accessible Kishtwar district, reaches higher altitude, and offers a more dramatic high-peak experience. Warwan first; Brammah for your second major Kashmir wilderness trek.
